great downtown access and close to beautiful parks
I loved being just a short stroll away from the stunning Botanic Garden at Historic Barns Park, which offered such a peaceful park experience, and the hotel was in the heart of downtown Traverse City, making it super easy to explore everywhere I wanted to go, from local shops to great restaurants. the staff was really nice, and the rooms were mostly clean with great blackout curtains for a good night's sleep.

Extremely clean atmosphere with colorful and modern decor stood out during the visit. The breakfast offered a delightful pancake platter and a variety of options that satisfied our family. Staff were helpful and approachable, making us feel welcome throughout our time. However, we felt the pool area could be larger for family activities, and some common areas were a bit too noisy during peak hours.

i had a great stay at tru by hilton! the location was perfect, just a short distance from everything, including the event i attended. the hotel is new and spotless, and the darkening curtains made my sleeps fantastic. the front desk staff were super nice and efficient too!
the ac/heater vents blew directly at my desk, which was a bit uncomfortable.

Had a great group getaway! The hotel was super clean, modern, and close to the serene Kids Creek Park. We loved biking along the Recreation Trail! The lounge area was perfect for hanging out, just a tad lacking in breakfast variety. Otherwise, definitely a solid choice for friends.
The breakfast options were pretty basic, which was disappointing considering we were paying top dollar for the room. It could definitely use some improvement.

The breakfast spread was an absolute treat, from fresh pastries to hearty options – worth waking up early for! We also loved the cozy vibe with comfy seating and game tables that made mingling with fellow travelers a blast.
The air unit in the room hummed like it was ready to audition for a noise competition, and it made it hard for us to catch any Z's. A quieter setup would make this spot a true gem for everyone.

Tru offered a clean and modern space with a well-maintained fitness center, but the room was quite small with limited amenities like no coffee maker or microwave. Additionally, the hotel is hard to find at night, which was frustrating. Overall, it was a decent stay.
